Title: Annual Budget Vote & Trustee Election

The Tuckahoe School Board of Trustees held their Annual Meeting & Trustee Election on May 17, 2016.  The meeting was called to order at 7:00 a.m. by Linda Springer, Chairman of the Annual Meeting & Trustee Election.  Two hundred and seventy-three (293) votes were cast with the following results:

PROPOSITION #1

RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Tuckahoe Common School District at Southampton, Town of Southampton, County of Suffolk, be authorized and directed to expend the sum set forth in their proposed budget for 2016-2017 in the total amount of
$19,533,000 and to levy the necessary tax therefor.
Adoption of this budget requires a tax levy increase of 2.48% which exceeds the statutory tax levy increase limit of .38% for this school fiscal year and therefore exceeds the state tax cap and must be approved by sixty percent of the qualified voters present and voting.

PROPOSITION #2

RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Tuckahoe Common School District at Southampton, Town of Southampton, County of Suffolk, be authorized to contract with Southampton U.F.S.D. for education of secondary students in grades 9-12 for the 2016-2017 through 2020-2021 school years as provided by Education Law.

PROPOSITON #3

RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Tuckahoe Common School District at Southampton, Town of Southampton, County of Suffolk, be authorized and directed to levy a sum of $54,386 for the District’s participation in the Southampton Youth Association.

RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Tuckahoe Common School District at Southampton, Town of Southampton, County of Suffolk, be authorized and directed to levy a sum of $7,868 for the District's participation in the Parrish Art Museum.
