The Board of Education held its Regular Meeting on Wednesday, August 24, 2005. In addition to its regular business, the Board of Education took action on the following items:
_Accepted the recommendations of the Committee on Special Education.
_Approved 2005-06 field trips.
_Approved 2005-06 extracurricular clubs and activities.
_Approved coaching assignments for the 2005-06 school year.
_Appointed student representatives to the AIDS Advisory Committee and the SAVE Committee.
_Approved the fall community education program.
_Accepted with gratitude donations from the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce, SYAG, Town of Brookhaven, and Sagamore Student Government.
_Approved six Deduct Change Orders.
_Approved a settlement for a release of claims from the U.S. Underwriter Insurance Company.
_Approved an agreement between Sachem School District for orthopedic coverage.
_Denied a request for out of district transportation.
_Established a scholarship in honor of Lee Tinguely.
_Approved co-curricular extra classroom treasurer (revised).
_Accepted with gratitude a donation from the Lynwood PTA.
_Appointed a leave replacement substance abuse counselor.
_Appointed ABA specialists.
_Appointed a lead counselor for the 2005-06 school year.
_Approved a resolution to reappoint emergency conditional appointments.
_Approved the appointment of Dr. Charles Murphy as Acting Superintendent of Schools effective October 1, 2005.

•The Board of Education recognized and introduced the new administrators.
The Board of Education has scheduled the following meetings:
